Our practice uses state of the art Cone Beam CT (CBCT) imaging for work-up of patients considering implant restorative treatment. The Vatech Pax-I-3D gives our oral and maxillofacial practice state-of-the-art technology to help Dr. Bundy diagnose potential issues more accurately and provide treatment with unprecedented precision, predictability and confidence.
Unlike a traditional hospital spiral CT scanner, Cone Beam CT technology provides precise, crystal-clear digital images while minimizing your exposure to radiation. The CBCT enables us to obtain an immediate image. It allow for more accurate diagnosis and treatment planning in our office in a timely fashion helping to reduce multiple patient visits. The CBCT scanner allows us to choose the field of view, or scanning area, that best suits your specific treatment needs. This helps to limit your radiation exposure because we are focusing specifically on your area of concern.
The Pax-I-3D system brings the latest 3D technology to Red Rocks Oral Surgery, providing unmatched visualization of anatomical detail aids in treatment planning and help us better explain the particulars of your case and address any questions you might have. We can view cross sectional images of the anatomy in the axial, coronal and sagittal planes.
CBCT data can also be imported in to third party software to view the anatomy in 3D. It can be uploaded to 3D implant case planning software where virtual models of the jaw bones and teeth are rendered on the computer screen and virtual implant treatment plans are developed and precise surgical procedure guides fabricated for surgery. Essentially your implant surgery is completed virtually.. with the end in mind before any real surgery is performed. The surgical guides allow for the computer generated treatment plan to be transferred to the patients mouth and the virtual surgery replicated in the clinical environment.
Dr. Bundy can use this innovative technology to quickly and easily share 3D images with your doctor – allowing the us all to collaborate on your care, improving your experience and delivering a positive treatment outcome.
